Anyone know the wavelength of the IR LEDs used in this camera or the specs of the camera to determine which wavelength is best for night vision?

Looking at various IR illuminators and want to make sure what I get is optimal. I saw this statement on CMVision models and don't have a clue what it is supposed to mean....especially given this IP cam uses a Sony starlight chip.

"Only sensitive with Sony or Sharp CCD Camera and lots of IP CMOS camera might not work with 850nm wavelength. Please be careful to read your camera specification first before buy!"

stick with 850nm. there are 940nm units available and they don't have the red glow, but most consumer cameras have very low sensitivity at 940nm, at least the ones i've tried.
also keep in mind that 850nm rating is the center of the bellcurve that is their distribution, so there is always some light below 850 (the red you see)...
