I purchased this hard drive enclosure:

ORICO 3529RUS3 Tool-free Aluminum 2-Bay 3.5" SATA2.0 USB3.0&eSATA HDD External Docking Station RAID Function 2bay HDD Case

I'm now shopping for (2) WD-Purple, 6TB drives. I see prices that range from $160 to $360 each. The difference seems to be the source and new vs. used. Not having any experience either buying or using such drives I'm struggling to appreciate the huge price difference and associated risks?

Lot of times part of the price swing is OEM vacuum pack vs. retail box. $200 is pretty common/average for a 6tb purple retail box drive.
