I am newbie at this, but BI is fun!!..I see few different issues, I browsed around this forum got different answers, I m here for some guidance please:

i) There is clear continuous video when i directly access camera , however through BI there is a pause every few secs? Not sure if I added the camera correctly?

ii)_Also want to make sure i am able to receive audio.

The "best" way to add a camera, Dahua or otherwise, is to enter the IP address of the camera along with the user name and password. Then click "Find and inspect" and let BI pick the configuration that it finds best suits the camera. If you want to use IVS or AI features don't forget to check "Get ONVIF event triggers".

Thank you. Just deleted and added the camera with the steps you mentioned, I will report back if the issues are resolved.

I still see issue where live Video is not "free flowing" like how I would see when directly connecting to the camera VS BI. Any thoughts?

PC processor type, complete processor type not just i5 or i7, and memory. Do some screen caps of the video settings in the camera configuration. How is the camera connected to the BI PC? A basic network map would help there. Screen cap of the camera config in BI, Video and video configuration. One more question, did you bench test the camera or just install it in its' final location?

I highly doubt it is short on resources, but here you go. Server has 24 GB with 500 GB Samsung SSD.

Poking around BI settings I found this option " Video during Remote desktop", i changed from 5-sec to unrestricted, that might be it. I will confirm back in a bit.

I think I jumped on it too soon :(. It has gotten better, I see a person walking then "slows down" for a second then back to normal...will still poke around.

Your CPU is a 11 year old room heater. It does not support QuickSync for video processing. It is a slow processor and will never process 30 FPS at 4MP very well. The Xeon process is used as a server, so it was designed to process multiple different jobs, It does not process one job quickly.

Provide screen shots of the camera settings in the camera not BI, as requested.

Also screen shots of
1) windows task manager process tab sorted by memory (most at the top), Must contain, memory, disk, network, GPU, GPU engine column (if you have a GPU)
2) windows task manager performance, GPU (if you have multiple GPUs, then multiple screen shots, if you have a GPU)
3) Blue iris status (lighting bolt graph, upper left corner) clip storage tab
4) blue Iris status cameras tab

Most anything is fine in daylight. I run my 5442 exposure tab as below.

But that does not mean your location will do well with it. You need to experiment and learn how each setting impacts your video. Post a video of the issue (blurred Amazon guy) for folks to look at. But in general, motion blur is due to having too slow shutter speed. See the following:

Last night a animal passed by my house, I was little bummed that I couldn't quite say what it was, it was either a coyote or a fox.

I wanted to post video, not sure how to cut just that part out of BI format file. Which software do you use? Thanks

Blue Iris.
In reviewing the clip, pause it where you want it to begin and right click to bring up a menu and 3/4 way down is "Set start frame". Select that. Then run the clip and pause it where you want it to end and then select "Set end frame". Then select "Convert/export (fifth option from the top). That will bring up a menu for exporting.
