Hello Community,
since i installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 Blue Iris freezes the system completely (only a hardreset works)
after a random time, BUT only when video recording is active.
I tried all encode options, so its no codec problem or so.
I've deinstalled Blue Iris completely and installed the newest version but the same.
Please help me, i really need the recording feature ;(

Welcome to the forum. Tell us about your pc, what are the specs? What cameras are you using, resolution, how many? What is the cpu usage when its not freezing up?

Intel Core i7-2600 (8M Cache, 4x 3.40 GHz) @ ASUS P8P67 REV 3.1 MoBo
16 GB (4x4) DDR3-1600 Geil Kit @ Dual Channel 9-9-9-27
120 GB SATA 3 SSD (Samsung 840 EVO) for Windows and programs
1 TB SATA 2 HDD (Samsung HD103UJ) only for privat data
3 TB SATA 3 HDD (TOSHIBA DT01ACA300) for the Blue Iris recordings
GeForce GTX 460
775W ATX Thermaltake Toughpower XT

4 cameras (2x DB POWER IPS-911 @ 1600x1200, 1x HooToo HT-IP212 @ 640x480, 1x TRENDnet TV-IP100 @ 640x480)
cpu usage is max. 25%
when it freezes the cpu and ram usage are still normal (saw it on my sidebar widgets) so its no memoryleak i think

Are you using the computer for general use or is it dedicated to BI? Sometimes a clean install with no junk is the best way to eliminate problems like freezes which are difficult to track down. Is anything showing up in event viewer?

The problem is from first day i installed fresh win, only thing in event viewer is that the system has not shutdown clean.
Drivers are all up to date, i also tried to record only a single camera and record to other hdd, but all the same...

That is strange....if you pc has integrated graphics i would remove your video card and try it with intel HD. If that doesn't work i would email blue iris support.
