I have had some very persistent hackers. Several attempts at getting them off my network failed. Then I did a fresh install of windows10. That also did not work. Finally I did another fresh install of windows 10 from a cold Power off computer. I think it is now ok.
When I just now tried to re-install Blue Iris, it would not accept my license key, (due to too many installs).
I emailed them and explained the situation.
I hope they will let me re-install again; after all I have to buy a new license renewal in several months.

Warning: Never let anyone connect to your computer, even when you think it is microsoft and you have checked their phone number is a Washington state number!

Sheer stupidity!!!!
I should have known better. Not that I'm making an excuse, but I just finished several months of throat cancer treatment and they not only burned all my taste buds with radiation, but I definitely have intermittent memory lapses.
What happened was during trying to download a utility program "Speccy", my screen froze with a stern warning that my network was infected and hackers were likely downloading financial info and passwords and were listening to our cell phones.
I was warned to not close this screen and if I did Microsoft would have to disable my account due to endangering their network. They prompted me to call them at this number (xxx) xxx-xxxx. They would then walk me through a sequence of steps to eliminate these hackers. I then checked the area code and it was from Washington state. I believed it was Microsoft. A woman speaking chinese/english accent sounded very convincing. She eventually turned me over to their security people who ran many scans in what was obviously a fake dos window. This scan which ran about 35 minutes, resulted in showing that 6 out of 11 hackers were eliminated. They then said that they would run scans tomorrow.

They did, and supposedly eliminate 2 more hackers from my network.
Then they said that we must contact my bank in PA(we moved here to Florida) 7 years ago. We had to ask that my bank would put an extra layer of security on my accounts for four to 5 days. .....

I have to cut this short. All of this continued with someone from my bank(supposedly) telling us that a purchase of $10,000.- worth of Bitcoin was made on one of our accounts.
I really have to cut this short now, but we really started to think that the 'Microsoft man' and the 'Banker' were fraud. I disconnected power from my computer and we contacted both the Pa and our local Florida banks and we froze all accounts.
These hackers were again in my computer after I did totally new windows10 installation. They were in for 3 days total, until my last windows 10 installation which I made from a cold new computer start and on a different hard drive.
We did not lose any money, but almost did.
I hired a local computer security expert and it took several more days before I got this apparently clean windows10 installed. It turned out that even our cell phones(Wifi network) were infected. The 3rd day, yesterday I still had unusually weird things (like moving mouse curser) on my screen.
As I said before they put on a very convincing show.

Horror story... It seems like it should be easy to track these crooks down and stop them... I guess it's not :(

Hope you're feeling better!

Let me leave future readers with this thought should they get a call from MS wanting to "fix" your PC:

Microsoft made 168 billion U.S. dollars in 2021. They did not make it by having off shore agents calling people and screwing them out of $200 at a time. I'm not going to waste everyone's time by doing the math but it would take thousands of callers calling non-stop for several thousand days to even come close to that.....so that's why it's not MS calling......

I wouldn't let them into my computer if it really was Microsoft calling. lol Don't want them dialing out either.

Yeah, standard scam that's been around forever.

Good luck with the health issues dee. Just spent 3 long weeks in the hospital a couple of months ago. No fun at all.

This reminds me of when they called me once...Which I love when scammers call me :)

Agent "Hi I'm from Microsoft, you have some virus on your computer and our system have picked it up"
Me "Oh no! what can I do"
Agent "Leave it with us sir, we can connect on and fix the problem"
Me "OK, could you please do this for me, what do I need to do?"
Agent "I need to connect onto your computer, I will send you a file over email and can you just click on it"
Me "Yeah, no problem, here is my email address but the file isn't here yet!"
Agent "Check you SPAM folder"
Me "Sorry, I am not very good at computers, I can see the file but it will not run" (no file as I gave me a random email address)
Agent "It my be blocked so I need to send it direct to you, Can you go to this web address and download the file"
Me "Yes, I have done that but now I have a command windows open, it says "Command Prompt" in a black box!
Agent "No, close that down"
Me "Hold on, before I close it down, I'm just running a traceroute back to your computer and I can see your P2P IP address to my computer.. 2 secs I'm just installing bot net software"
Agent "You motherf**ker, you fcuk your mother, Indian speak, Indian speak... Dead tone"

I love it when they call me

I recall an old Seinfield episode where Seinfeld answers the phone and tells the telemarketer with enthusiasm "Oh, yes! Hold on and let me run and get a pen and paper! I want to write this down so I won't miss this offer....hold on! " and covers the phone's mouthpiece and continues his long conversation with George. Basically he put the dude on hold!

I couldn't find the aforementioned method on YT, but this was another great one, IMO:

going way off on a tangent… my favorite Seinfeld scene… Jerry and George sitting at the diner… George - “I can sense the slightest human suffering”… Jerry - “Are you feeling anything now?”

I had the "Microsoft agent" on the phone for 43 minutes trying to "help me" get rid of a virus from watching gay midget porn when said "hey you are not an old gay man" and I said "and you are not Microsoft, but I bet you watch gay midget porn" his started cursing at me for 2 minutes before he said he would come to kill me and then I just laughed at him. I told him I made him waste 43 minutes of his scamming day LOL which just made him madder, good times.

I receive these calls regularly, not only lying about being from Microsoft but also Amazon, AT@T, DirecTV, IRS, etc.
I will end this once my bank account is funded from my long lost relative in Nigeria who needs my help getting his money to the US.
