Hello All,
This is my camera security I am currently using. I bought BI and connected another camera on this.

What is the procedure to get Q-See Model #QT8516-8Z7-2 on BI and what is the best way to record on motion
a) record on motion on BI
b) record on a server or desktop

I want other options in case I do not want to run BI 24/7.

I spoke to Q-See CS and rep said to call ATT and open the port: 85 and 6036.

In general,
what is the way to look up cameras to add on BI? I cannot find QSee system using the IP address.
thank you

The question makes no sense..a and b have nothing to do with each other...also, you need to run blue iris 24/7 otherwise its pointless...if you dont know the ip address of your qsee system you wont be able to get this working...this is basic networking 101..

i don't know much about networking but getting the ip from the router or Qsee set up; i do...
I know the a) and b) are unrelated. That's why I mentioned that I DO NOT want to run my desktop 24/7 just for Blue Iris. Not many want to run their main desktop 24/7.
Hence, why I said record, store on another desktop or server.

I inputted the IP address of my system into BI and it could not bring up the camera.
The person from QSee used team viewer and did not know much about third party softwares but she reccomend me call AT&T and open ports 85, 30XX.

thanks

this is a mess...
you ask, what is the best way...then you say a or b...my point is they are not related..they are not mutually exclusive...it can be a or b...
if you are not willing to dedicate a machine for blue iris, then forget it...keep using the qsee...it would be pointless to use blue iris if not running 24/7...it doesnt do anything when its off..
you need to do more than input the ip address...you need to select the proper stream as well as ports....there is a sticky in the trouble shooting section...
DONT OPEN ANY PORTS..that has nothing to do with your issue...

OK thanks, I will buy a separate computer or leave this one on. Re: troubleshooting. you mean this troubleshooting sticky: How to add camera to BI that is not in the drop down list
my Q-See camera System is listed 4 times on BI.
Anyone else want to help? I already contacted Q-See and checked youtube settings.

Apparently these are Dahua cameras and uses port 85(?), I am getting port 80 when trying to add. server port 6036. on RTSP port and ONVIF port; what do I put?
Ip for Q-See has a firewall on as well.

this is basic stuff..you need the correct url ports, etc...not all qsee is dahua...you need to enter the proper rtsp port, usually 554...read search.

Try find/inspect on the cam setup tab.
Leave the ip address field blank.
When the list of items it has found appears, double click the correct entry.

i tried that multiple times. And got only my PTZ Amcrest camera.

the q-see rep told me that 554 is the right rtsp port. Leave the ONVIF input alone.

Under the drop down menu for cameras, Q-See has the 444/588/828/qcn7xxx/8xxx/h.264

Mine model is QT8516 so i selected that option which has a RTSP port of 554.

Do not know what else to do. By the way, this is a 8 camera system.
Opening port 80...
HTTP Get / request...
Failed with HTTP 12029
Opening port 8999...
ONVIF GetSystemDateAndTime
HTTP 12029
Checking for common cameras...
Foscam FI86xx/98xx compatible?
Foscam FI89xx compatible?
Foscam FI9821 V2 compatible?
Foscam FI9821 media port compatible?
RTSP port open?
No automatic configuration made
Done
