Hi everyone. So much has changed in past year. Im looking for recommendation for Dahua camera line up from Andy EmpireCandy.

Need three cameras.

- Porch camera Focus: Less than 5 feet
- Driveway camera Focus: 10-20 feet
- Long Shot Camera To Get End Of Street Cars Focus 100 feet away

Also a DVR recommendation would be great.

Budget is less than $200 for Porch and Driveway cam. Long shot camera less than $350

So may model numbers and slight differences.
This one looks great for long shot camera
IPC-HFW8231E-Z5 does it come in dome version though?

Hi @stevef22

Take some time to figure this out, and check out the numerous reviews members have done here on ipcamtalk.

The reviews will be a good guide with lots of examples.

Chances are that you will want a couple more cameras down the line, depending on the threats you are planning to counter.

Here's a good camera to pick up and start testing with, to see how the varifocal performs as well as see how well it does in low light.
Note - you may want to pick up different cameras later - but this is a good one to learn from and keep imho

What Looney said. I’ve been here mostly reading and learning as time permits for a new house build. Finally after a year with our builder we go to contract within a week then I can refocus and read more. Most folks don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan. Read read.

I'd guess these are the most popular models for those areas:
Porch: IPC-HDBW4231F-AS
Driveway: IPC-HDBW5231R-ZE or IPC-HDBW2231R-ZE (less expensive, but no microphone)
Long shot: IPC-HDF5231R-Z5 or 5231R-Z12

Check out the 5231 version of that camera... it looks like the major difference between the one you picked and the 8231 is that the 8231 has more advanced software features, like people counting, etc... not sure you want to pay extra for that.

Note that with the long shot cameras, the width of the image is more narrow as you zoom. Use the IPVM Camera Calculator V3 tool to place these cameras around a Google Maps image of your house and see what the expected image quality will be like.
