Couple years ago I bought two 2CD2385FWD 4mm cameras but never actually installed them.
This was back when I didn't know the ppm/identification requirements and just went with the "wider angle = better coverage" thinking.
Since those were discontinued a while ago, I haven't been able to find the same ones with a 8mm or 12mm lens that would be more appropriate for my setup.

What's on the market nowadays that fits this:
  • Turret style
  • Varifocal or fixed lens available in 8mm or 12mm
  • 8MP
  • ~1/1.8 or better sensor
No need for fancy analytics stuff, I'd be using it for a home blue iris setup.

I tried looking around at what's available and can only find cams that match 3 out of those 4 items.

Is there anything out there for me?

Thank you,

Have a look at these. The big problem is a 12mm lens. 12mm is normally the maximum focal length of a varifocal and 6mm is the maximum focal length for a bullet or turret.

Review - 8MP 1/1.2" sensor full color camera

And many here will also say that 4MP is more than adequate for surveillance cameras, especially if you are looking at larger focal lengths and especially at night.

I would take a 2MP on a 1/2.8" sensor over an 8MP on a 1/2.8" sensor all night.
