Used them in ethernet settings many times when moving equipment around in racks until a new line can be pulled. Never had any issues with running 10/100/1000 hardware behind them. I will say I've never run hardware for extended periods (more than a few weeks) on them, nor have I run POE cameras on them, but for what I've used them for I've always been fine. In all honesty this is no different than having a patch panel connection or a Keystone jack, so you shouldn't have any problems just assure your weather tight and not exposed to the elements

For sure I would use di-electric grease in the connections and then wrap the whole connection in weather tight tape.

I'd hate to run new wire for the sake of 20 ft.

I've used it one in my garage Camera wanted to extend the wire to the other side of the corner and didn't feel like making another run. It worked perfectly for more then 9 months.
