Cat 6a network cable

I have been given a roll of cat 6a network cable, I want to add two hikvsion dome cameras to my cctv network running poe if I purchase a Poe switch ( eg Netgear or ubiquity)will this work using the cat 6a cables.

yes...ensure its solid copper not CCA/copper clad aluminium

As above, it'll work but you'll have fun terminating it... Better to use it for the backbone of your home network between switches - the max data rate of your cameras is 100mbps, cat6a is overkill.

Cat6a is harder to terminate than Cat5, for sure. I used to get frustrated trying. After a bit of practice I can now terminate Cat6a with ease. Just make sure you have the proper tools and the properly sized RJ45 connectors. Also buy your self a continuity test kit.
