Clip Plackback UI not appearing correctly

When I click on clips and select a clip to playback, it will display the spinning circle and a few playback controls at the bottom but it will continue to just display the live image and that's it. I can select a spot along the timeline but it doesn't make it work.

What exact version of blue iris are you using?
try chrome instead of edge.

I'm using v.4.8.2.5 x64.
I have tried using Firefox, IE and Chrome desktop versions. I have attached a screenshot for Chrome.

Just checked it with v.4.8.3.0 x64. No difference.

What file format are you recording to? If it is not bvr then you should install K-Lite Codecs from ninite.com on the Blue Iris server.
