Cut parts of BI clips

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I've searched unsuccessfully.

Scenario, I've got a 20 minute BI clip, but I only need to save 5 minutes worth (in a row). How do I do that?

Additional question: How would I be able to convert the file so that it's playable on VLC?

You might try searching the word "export" in the help file.

While the video is playing try right click, start frame, end frame, convert/export.
