DHI-NVR42A04-P

Gents, I need you to clarify some specs on this NVR for me please...

"Up to 5MP Resolution for Preview and Playback; Recording Resolution 5MP (2560x1920)"
Does this also mean the maximum megapixel camera this recorder can accept is 5?

"Smart H.264+ / MJPEG Dual Codec Decoding"

Right now, the only encoding option I see is H.264. The latest firmware for this model is dated Apr 9/16 with a Changelog that doesn't say much except "Support H.264+, English, Spanish, Frech optional, Default English, NTSC"...time to upgrade, isn't it?

"PoE 4 ports (IEEE802.3at/af); Power Consumption PoE: Max 25.5W for single port"
By single port, does it mean only one (1) port can supply PoE+ at one time or is it all?

"HDMI 1.4"
So it's okay to hook this up to a 4k capable display, right? I've also read somewhere on the net that the HDMI outputs on these NVRs don't last very long, is this true? Can both video outs (VGA, HDMI) be used at the same time or just one over the other?

Thanks.

1. Yes, 2560x1920 is the highest resolution it can record/playback
2. It will do h264, h264+ and MJPEG
3. Each port can provide 25.5W independently; they are all PoE+
4. Yes, never heard that.. and usually both video outputs can be used at same time as long as both displays support same resolution.
