Hello,
IPC-HDW4631C-A bricked after update from webGUI. Firmware was downloaded from official Dahua website (DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.800.0000008.0.R.190619) but camera was bought on Aliexpress, so as I now presume it will doesn't work with multilingual firmwares by default. I wasn't know that before I started ;(
After update camera was responds to PING on IP, so I decided to unblock, according to this topic: Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP using the same firmware as before "MultiLang V2.800". TFTP upload works well, all components (including boot loader) was updated. But camera application still doesn't boot. Then I tried to connect to camera via serial connection, to change dh_keyboard=0 parameter and see what's happen.
There are some errors while application boots. All booting log has 15 pages, so I paste here only strange errors, mainly related to something called IAV, IVF.
Any help will be apreciated.

Are you sure that is the right firmware file for this camera anyway? The model number pattern says 5 where your camera model says 4. Sorry, I've never needed to restore an unresponsive Dahua camera before so I don't know anything to suggest.

Maybe firmware it's wrong, but in ENV I've got similar HWID like 01:02:05:5F:21:00:01:0E:01:00:00:2D0:00:00:00:00:00:01:00:00:200 It's used in for HDW4631 and HDW5631
Now im stuck because I've upgraded to newest bootloader, and can't upload older software (bad header error) works only newer firmware, that can't boot properly. There's firmware dedicated to HDW4631 but it's too old for my bootloader.

V2.622.0000000.18.R.20171110 but now I've got bootloader from V2.800.0000008.0.R.190619 :(

For now I've idea to reprogram 25Q256 SPI flash with older bootloader outside the IPC, on SPI programmer.

After changing HWID to IPC name to IPC-HDW4631EM I've got progress. Camera "clicks" once while booting, and finally stops at something that looks like localization problem. I've found info in this topic: Loading new firmware on HFW4300S-V2 & Chinese Dahua cams but in this firmware a can't even remount, due to lack of permission. Now it looks like that:

I don't remember, probably V2.640. I wonder what's responsible for recognizing camera hardware, is it something in flash, or maybe resistors on certain I/O? I don't have time to drill down that, for me now work's for now, basic setting can do with browser with translate plugin, rest I will from NVR via ONVIV Thanks for help and involvement.

So, your ipc was chinese ;)
What firmware was at the beginning?

after update Chinese firmware camera works again!
DH-IPC-HDW46XX系列-浙江大华技术股份有限公司

but all is in Chinese ;(
These “C” model cameras are only supposed to be sold/used within China so Chinese is the only language in the official Dahua firmware for these models.

Other folks take the official Dahua firmware, hack in support for other languages and then resell these cameras outside of China, but usually with a warning in the description stating that the firmware can’t be upgraded.

Maybe, but in the check.img file there's no any model with "C", HWID are also the same, one difference is at beginning of the check.img file

Chinese:
"DefaultLanguage" : "SimpChinese",
"DefaultVideoStandard" : "PAL",
"SupportLanguages" : "SimpChinese",
"IPC-HDW4631EM:01:02:05:5F:21:00:01:0E:01:00:04:2D0:00:00:00:00:00:01:00:00:200",

International:
"DefaultLanguage" : "English",
"DefaultVideoStandard" : "NTSC",
"SupportLanguages" : "English,Italian,Spanish,Russian,French,German,Portuguese,Polish,Korean,Farsi,Czech,Dutch,Arabic,SpanishEU",
"IPC-HDW4631EM:01:02:05:5F:21:00:01:0E:01:00:04:2D0:00:00:00:00:00:01:00:00:200",

But there must be another another place from application knows for which market camera was produced. Because even if we upload non Chinese firmware, application looking for Chinese localization. I don't know what it is, maybe something in unused area in flash (not overwritten in upgrade process), maybe resistor switches, or maybe another hardware difference. I don't have similar international model to compare.

Hi mate,
I have bought the same camera from China during my recent visit there.
Model : DH-IPC-HDW4631C-A. It is chinese camera and doesn't have any English patch at all. I have connected the camera to my NVR : DHI-NVR2108HS-8P-4KS2 and I have error " Device is not compatible"

Would you be able to help me by any chance to make my camera work with my NVR ?

Thank you in advance!

I think your issue is the firmware in newer nvr's reject China region only cameras. Dahua implemented this so that it would be harder to sell China region only cameras in the us market.

yes you are correct. I can operate the camera with config tool. Is there a way to patch region recognising or something so that this cameras can work on NVR?
