I have the Dahua HFW4239t-ASE I took a part and noticed a few spots where some components were left off presumably for higher model cameras. Components such as microphone, motor, ICR, IR led ECT. I’m curious what,if any, of those components could be re-populated onto the board, mic and leds seem easy enough. Providing all the hardware is there to power the components properly would it be possible to change the firmware to make it all work properly??E547AC71-CB32-4B6A-A8C0-5C591439F9F4.jpeg71B06983-BE6C-4B35-9C5C-8FA23A193118.jpeg9D55E2CA-F517-45AB-B501-5AB5105E5EED.jpeg5BAFD564-A694-46BB-9DDC-E6D6D32312F8.jpegA6F9CF46-A702-48BD-9D16-F28ED3BC030B.jpeg

How would you know, what parts are missing? You would need the higher end model camera, to compare it with.

Another poor soul like me who likes to take brand new perfectly working things and risk turning them into bricks. The only camera mod I've made is to send 12 volts out the power connector for an external IR illuminator.

Sometimes it is worth it, like for example, on some forums, people found out, that by applying a firmware from a higher end oscilloscope, made it from 50Mhz into a 100Mhz scope.
