*edit*

You wrote starlight in the headline. Does it have it ?
So confusing using the US site. Its all different.

Looking at the Lux values it seems to be very good actually !
Almost as good as the 2MP Starlight but 5MP. Nice :)

It all comes down to the price. I think i will wait to get more cams until this one is on Ali.

2MP Starlight has
0.006Lux/F1.4 ( Color,1/3s,30IRE)
0.05Lux/F1.4 ( Color,1/30s,30IRE)
0Lux/F1.4 (IR on)

Very interesting. No turret option yet ...

Given that this is the US site, where are you supposed to buy these things? I've gotten all of my Dahuas from Andy.

Near as I've been able to determine, Dahua places the "Starlight" name on cameras that have anything .009 or lower.
.01 < Not Starlight
.009 < Starlight

There is a BIG difference though in .009 vs say .002 with say the 8232 bullet.

Quite interesting. On international Dahua page, there is no mention about these models. They seem to have very good sensitivity. 009/09LUX is like my 2MP Starlight 4231EM-AS. The sensor is most likely Omnivision's newly developed OS05A20 with Nyxel technology. I would love to see some image examples from these.

You are right, i compared to the wrong Starlight segment. As its a pro model the 5MP will probably be $350 atleast.

Where did you see these? I have only ever bought Dahuas from Andy so am curious where to go for the US versions.

Hope they get a vari-focal turret option.

hmmmm

5MP on a 1/2.7" sized chip - does not sound like it would produce the low level light performance we expect from Starlight models.
Hope someone does a comparison between one of these 5MP and the 2MP starlights.

Looks like they are just now coming out. I found the prices here: N52BF3Z 5MP Motorized Bullet Camera
Odd, that Squared Bullet Camera has a round base with 3 screw holes... normally I would pair that sort of bullet camera with a PFA121 junction box... wondering if that would fix the new PFA130E junction "box" ( circular cross section - works with the turrets )

I've got a 5631 turret (6MP, 1/2.9" STARVIS) whose low-light performance doesn't impress me.

Its illumination specs are:
0.03Lux/F1.4 (Color,1/3s,30IRE)
0.3Lux/F1.4 (Color,1/30s,30IRE)
0Lux/F1.4(IR on)

So while the n51bd23 isn't quite "5231 Starlight" Starlight, its low-light specs do seem a ton better than the 5631, no? I get lost when the specs have different F-values.

these cams pics not as sharp as the 2MP one, higher resolution , poor nightvision. But 5 series cams nightvision is much sharper than the 4 series ones.
