Deleting clips in blue iris clip list not deleting files in new folder

I was having an issue before about clips being appended together into large files. I got that figured out, so now each recorded clip is saved as their own individual file to the "new" folder. But now when I delete clips from the blue iris clip list in the gui the files in the "new" folder don't get deleted. They remain there.

What's the deal? Are there multiple copies of each clip saved? If I delete a file from the blue iris gui, I don't want a copy to remain in the "new" folder. Can anyone explain what I need to do here?

You are likely deleting alerts not clips..make sure you have selected clips from the dropdown...
Also, its silly to micromanage clips like that...let blue iris do its thing a delete clips as the drive fills up.
