Hey all. I picked up a dell poweredge 1850 with windows server 2k8 r2 64 bit, 2 xeon 3.4 Ghz processors, and 4 gig of ram. Migrated blue iris 4 from my amd fx 6100 desktop and it hits 100% processor usage on startup. Is 6 hik 2cd2032 cameras running 1920x1080 @ 6fps asking too much from this older server or am I missing some thing?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum..what model xeon do you have? The old ones are not very powerful.
These old servers are often power hogs and will draw excessive power which will be costly to run 24/7...
You can try using direct to disk to lessen the load..I would put a killawatt meter on the machine to measure consumption...

Can you be more specific about the processors? The Xeon brand has been around a long time, and some of the older ones are truly horrible by today's standards.

6x 2MP @ 6fps is not a very heavy load. If you don't have the recording mode set to direct to disk, I recommend you set that. But otherwise I bet the CPUs are just underpowered.

I wouldn't bother, they are power and space hungry. You would be better off with a more modern cpu
