the new issues i am experiencing with this firmware:

-my wireless mouse with dongle no longer works.

- when viewing the timeline of a video, right above the timeline there are little image frame previews of the timeline that kinda make things sluggish while navigating the timeline.

i may go back to V3.216.0000003.0 Build Date: 2019-05-21 because i find the above annoying and the benefit of viewing in browsers without plugins does not trump those issues for me.

I noticed my IVS events from my IPC-HDW5831R-ZE finally show up correctly in the search function on this version. So maybe 4.001 is what 4.0 should have been in the first place, seems like they're finally knocking out some of the major showstoppers.

another thing i noticed, there seems to be no way to backup video clips in the web interface. only playback.

update:

for some reason, the wireless mouse works now. there was no problem with the mouse before, i made sure. tried different ones with the nvr and made sure they all worked on a pc. can't think of any reason how this situation fixed its self.


also, the part "- when viewing the timeline of a video, right above the timeline there are little image frame previews of the timeline that kinda make things sluggish while navigating the timeline. " if you click just below the timeline, those previews disappear. so this is not too much of an issue anymore.

Yes the 08 allows you to record up to 8 channels instead of just 4. You could do this via an external switch

I buy 4104-P, before I see nvr 4108-p have a same Poe ports, but have acess more 4 channels. But firmare are the same, I don’t understand. You think, if have something to do open additional 4 channels?

if there was a way to put the 4108-P software on the 4104-P nvr I had access to 4 more channels. There must be some way, because they are exactly the same. exiate there something to block access to the extra 4 channels

yes it would be easy! but I think it would be worse if I were to change the software of a recorder from one series to another series. Here I am talking about the same lite series, it is the same model, both have 4 POE ports, it only changes that one model provides 4 more ports, to connect cameras on the same network or to a siwtch poe. You must be sure to unlock the 4 extra channels
