I am looking at the Dahua international site under Pro-AI series 4MP cameras and the two model numbers I can not see what is the difference between them. The ASE version has a orange star on the listing once again I have no idea what this means and why it has an orange star on it but if I check them both out they seem to have identical specs.
What am I missing here?

Go to product select, find and select both cameras and click on compare. You will see that image sensor is different, min illumination, WDR etc...

Ah I didn’t see that I was just going back and forward between the pages. So the AS has a lower Lux does that mean the starvis sensor is better even though they are the same size?

why does the ASE have that orange star on the results page like some others?

Typically when Dahua adds an 'E' to the product model number, it means that model supports ePoE. The orange star usually means that product is a newer listing to the website. IIRC, the 5442 ePoE version is relatively new.
