Display problems

fitted a 32 channel Hikvision dvr today and for some reason the hdmi display is only 3/4 of the display then a grey bar and the top 1/4 that’s chopped off is under the bottom 3/4 ‍ I am at a loss I have never seen this before if I unplug the hdmi and plug it back in it seems to display different parts of the screen

Any ideas????

Try it on a different display, see if the same happens.
Try the many variants of output signal that can be selected via the DVR web GUI, Output menu, see which work OK.

It works fine on a small tv he has this is a brand new 40” 4K tv

Sounds like the display settings, try 'auto' or see what it's defaulting to.
