The object literally has to cross the line for the alert to be tripped. In this case, the cat passed under the leaf where it crosses line and therefore did not trip the alert. It isn't your sensitivity settings that caused the "miss", it's your actual trigger line. I'd go and remove that leaf as well as extend the trigger line down farther into the scene. Both of those changes would help the next time a cat passes that way.

Thanks, I'll try extending it.
Actually looking at the video again, I'm not sure extending the line would help as it seems there is a drop off right there and the cat is in the lower section. Extending the line would place it on the upper part of the drop off and therefore it wouldn't actually help trigger anything moving on the lower section. I have to assume this is why you stopped the line there in the first place. I would however try to remove the leaves that are blocking the ground from the view of the camera around the location of the line.
