They are from the same NVR class, that firmware will work. Hikvision Europe gets the most current firmware well before the US, you can go ahead and upgrade from that link, it'll work fine.

All of my 7600s upgraded seamlessly without any issues.

What process do you take upgrading the NVR Firmware? what method do you use?

Do you have any Hikvision Chinese region cameras on your NVR, connected as an ONVIF model?

DS-7604NI-E1/4P, DS-7608NI-E2/8P and DS-7616NI-E2/16P Firmware V. 3.3.6 Buil...

A) upload the digicap.dav firmware file from the web interface

B) copy it to a USB flash drive and do it right from the NVR. Both can be found under the maintenance menu.

Ah yes, starting with 3.4.0, any Chinese regioned devices that are not patched to English will throw up a language mismatch error and will cease to work. If the Chinese regioned device appears to be all English otherwise, you would likely be fine. But that's an important thing to be aware of. Good call.

And in the pipeline will be the rejection of Chinese cameras connected as ONVIF with a 'language mismatch'.
Doncha just hate these stupid region-locking games?
It just motivates people to find ways to circumvent them.
It's not as if paid-for options are being unlocked, that would be different.
It's all sales, after all, whoever buys them.

If when you dial into the camera directly, it all appears English, then you will most likely be fine. I would definitely verify it first with him if that's who you bought it from. Better safe than aorry

Just attempted this NVR_K41_BL_ML_STD_V3.4.2_160226 on my US version DS-7604NI-E1/4P and it failed with mismatches. =(

I haven't seen the V3.4.2_160205 on my DS-7604NI-E1/4P only thing available on my NVR is Firmware v3.3.6_151229.

USB flash attempt of digicap.dav (unzipped of course) at the console. Its 15.52MB as opposed to the 15.45MB V3.3.6 I upgraded too a couple hours ago.

using 3.4.2 on my 7604NI/E1/4P and found no issues, a few enhancements here and there

my biggest gripe is they have made the web UI playback bar smaller, previously i could zoom in to events indicated on the timeline easily, now they have halved the time line horizontally and its just too small, also you can no longer just click on the time line to play an event, you now have to move the timeline according to where you want to see an event, if i am honest its a pretty poor way of implementing and controlling the timeline

Can you take a screen shot of this? Im curious about this cause this is the only way I do remote playback, I happen to find the IVMS Software to much navigation just to watch playback

Your cameras are not patched, as I indicated above. Going about this, the jury is out, I never got into MTD modifying as every Chinese camera I've ever purchased came pre-patched. For pre-2015 cams that need patched, I have a special firmware file that it's upload and done that I can link you to if you'd like. For post 2015 cams with the newer checksum, I recommend you look at the 5.3-5.25 downgrader on here. I've used the 5.2.5 firmware file included in that bundle to patch many of the 3MP 2015 cameras. I'm speaking solely for the Raptor 2xx2 series, anything else, I can't really guide you anywhere.

It does look a little weird but I can still scroll around like before, so it doesn't bother me. I haven't played with it at all since upgrading, so you would know more about this than I would currently.
