DSC alarm system with PC1555RKZ keypad wanting a display

We have a DSC alarm system with 2 of the PC1555RKZ keypads (no display) and I want to update them to have the display. The docs suggest the LCD5500Z keypad. Is this as simple as just replacing the keypad making all the wires match up from the old to the new or does the LCD one require more in the brain box than what the PC1 does??

My DSC PC5010/POWER832 system has the LCD5500Z and three other keypads. But it's been fifteen years since I installed the system.

I recall that the Keypads will require some programming to enroll the new configuration (such as partition slot and function key assignments). You will also have to enable supervision after making changes. The installation manual will explain these steps.

BTW, if you can install and maintain a security camera system then adding the alarm keypad should be within your skills.
