Hi,

First off thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this problem!

I have a Hikvision NVR which is on my home network with 3 cameras attached to the internal POE switch in the Hikvision NVR. However the ip cameras do not appear to have access to the internet to send emails due to being on a different subnet. Is there a way to make this possible as the Hikvision motion detect and email sending does not work with my ip cameras.

I can send email from the NVR and also access the NVR through the GUI. I can Ping the NVR but not the cameras.

Info:
Router
Asus RT-N66U
192.168.1.1
with Lan route setup 192.168.254.1 to 192.168.1.252 (not sure if correct)

Hikvision NVR
NIC type: Auto
DHCP: unticked
ipv4 address: 192.168.1.252
ipv4 subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
ipv4 default gateway: 192.168.1.1

Example Camera
Fixed IP addresses
ipv4 address: 192.168.254.7
ipv4 subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
ipv4 default gateway: 192.168.254.1

Thanks !

Problem resolved:

For anyone else with this issue my problem was the LAN Route should of been 192.168.254.0. When i changed this I could then ping the camera and then setup the email service in the ip camera itself.

Yes, that covers all devices that use that address range, as opposed to just the single device (the NVR PoE interface) using the 192.168.254.1 address that you originally specified.

Well done for getting there - and for sharing!
