External triggers

I would like to start recording using an external trigger in Milestone XProtect Go. I simple API like supporting a few simple commands such as http://127.0.0.1/api/?action=start&camera=1

As far as I can tell I would have to upgrade to XProtect Express (not Essential) to be able to do any kind of integration with external systems/software. With 8 cameras that would cost 200 + 8*100 = 1000USD.

Any ideas how to do it cheaper?

Thank you, but those detectors are quite expensive. I already have a few PIR detectors connected to my home automation system so all I need is a way to start and stop recordings using an API. The EventProxy from Milestone looks promising, but It requires Express...
