This is John from IPVM.

It is Herospeed - http://www.herospeed.net/en/ (specifically the new 6.1 VMS not the older CMS)

As fenderman notes, we found that parts of it are stolen / pirated from Milestone and Video Insight. On the plus side, if you do not care about that, it looks and is organized like those two higher end VMSes. That noted, I would not recommend supporting Longse / Herospeed and the type of unethical activities they engage in.

Thanks for the confirmation about Herospeed. Are Milestone and Video Insight aware of the piracy? That seems like it would be an interesting interview to hold. It will be interesting to see how that turns out in the long run.

It's a double bummer because Longse just announced (or released) some amazingly low priced 4K cameras. I understand they may not be great night time cams, but the prices are very low.

https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/11897-Cheap-4K-cams-from-Longse-are-here-with-IMX274

Curious if Longse still spams as much as they used to. From what I have read, they used to send spam e-mail to potential and repeat customers quite often.

I'm seeing that the Firefox add-on Web of Trust lists longse.com with all red warnings. That's usually a bad sign...

If this is the case then the right thing to do would be to organize a boycott Herospeed / Longse products. My guess is that nothing will come of that because morals are usually driven by the pocketbook rather than principles.

Yes, and we believe they will take legal action. However, this is a Chinese company that has no physical operations in North America or Europe so it may be hard to make an impact.

But it says right here "With our owns R&D department (HEROSPEED), we have developed a new client software to help you view the video by computer-VMS."
Self-Designed VMS Software

Yes, more beautiful interface, thanks to stealing from Milestone and Video Insight...
You may not have seen that the newest IPC firmware from Herospeed has a logon image identical to that of Hikvision, and an internal web GUI look&feel closely matching Hikvision.
And now supports Hikvision protocols over the network such that the IPC can be configured in a Hikvision NVR as a Hikvision product.
But Hikvision do publish their protocol definitions for developers.

Is the VMS version only available for the MAC? Don't see a VMS Windows version, only a CMS version for Windows.
