I bought one of those for a low price on eBay about a year ago.
This is a DH4431C-A-V2 that was offered for £xx on eBay as a 'Spare and repairs' item, apparently :
"Brand new unused but faulty.
Briefly appears on the network then disappears."
It was bootlooping, presumably after a firmware update. Confirmed after accessing the system log after I'd fixed it up ...
But a 'reset to defaults' fixed it, and I was actually quite impressed with the video quality, and the functionality.
I swapped out a Hikvision 3MP turret camera in favour of this.

ok, so maybe these aren't that bad after all...
it says: IPC-HDW4431C-A-V2 in the version info screen....
i thought i read on this forum (somewhere) that by definition a "IPC-HDW4431C-A-V2" is not a true dahua product...

Those cam's are made for China Region sales, in some case's they use less expensive parts. And almost always the firmware has been hacked from chinese to the language you purchased. Typically, it is not advisable to upgrade the firmware. But they are Dahua.

Ok thanks, i'll just use'em as is.
So i have the POE version of this camera.
I noticed they are getting a bit warm, even with IR off.
Could that have something to do with the cheaper parts? Or is there a heating element to prevent frost that i can eliminate?

Thanks!
