While we have on our premises a lot of 'private' cams that are captured by Blue Iris, it would be nice adding some general cams from our city as well to the BI cam collection.

However, we are not able to get the correct parameters for grabbing the picture from the (external) webcam.

Example site would be: http://webcam.prvgld.nl/a325.html

Of course we do understand that we will not be able to turn the camera from blue iris (since there is no way that we can 'click' somewhere to simulate the functionality that this cam can be pointed to a set of predefined positions), but we would already be happy to have a view (lets say 1 frame per second or 1 frame every 5 seconds) to have a general awareness of what is happing in our town while we are underground.

Any suggestions highly appreciated!

Found it. Indeed just a 'normal' http embeded rtmp stream does the trick.

Since you are really an expert, can you find the right solution for this one too?

http://www.a4consult.nl/nl_large_webcam_arnhem_a4consult.php and
http://www.a4consult.nl/nl_large_webca2_arnhem_a4consult.php

and from this site:
http://www.werkgroepslechtvalk.nl/ccms.104.Werkgroepslechtvalk.LIVE-BEELDEN.html
the one at the top right called "Nijmegen; camera 2"

Can these ones be captured in BI?

And if i may
:redface-new: just two other questions.

1. We would like to be able to take all these webcams with a rate of 1 frame every 30 seconds.
In BI we only have one frame every 12 seconds or 1 frame every minute. Is this something we need to ask Ken to implement?

2. We assume that we keep our internet line a bit 'within certain limits' by taking only 1 frame every 30 min (currently 1 frame every 12 seconds)... but...
In BI we see that there is a higher framerate being delivered to us. Of course we switched of the 'adjust automaticly' function, but just to be sure...
Is our assumption right that by reducing the framerate we also reduce the amount of frames actually being asked from the webcams? Or are we receiving the full load of framing and are we only RECORDING one frame every 12 seconds?
(If so, having about 20 external cams will completely cause a trafficjam in our internet, and we should try to find another way by which for each cam only once every 30 seconds (now 12 seconds) there is an actual 'polling' towards the webcam.

Thanks for your quick respons!

First link: you could execute http://89.99.126.54/freeimage.jpg every 30 seconds. You get one image.
Second link: is identical with the first one
Third link: http://www.werkgroepslechtvalk.nl/images/live-beelden/cg2.jpg

Look in the source code of the pages and you will see how to properly execute the links.

There are no 'image' streams...just scripts reloading the link by changing an attached timestamp.

No idea how to set frame rates in BI, all my cams go with 'default' settings...
