Should I leave the bite rate as constant or variable in the cameras setup. Thanks

Variable, and set the bit rate to say 6-8100
From what I have read on this. if the picture is static and not a lot going on the bit rate is lower, and when something happens the bit rate will rise up when something is happening in the frame, also if you have your frames per second say at 25 match your I-frame rate to 25,or what ever your frame rate is match it to the I frame rate for a fluid motion in play back.

I wondered if the iframe set at exactly double the fps could have a benefit. I received 2 new cameras (not hikvison) and the defaulted iframe was exactly twice the amount of the fps. Probably have a very difficult time even seeing the difference set either way. IMO. Not really sure what this really does or if it helps.

I set mine at double and got a pulsing effect and went back to a one to one ratio
There is a good video on you tube about frame rates and I frames
Also ipvm had a good article about it have a read it’s worth it.
