Hi,

I have two of these DS-2CD2432F-IW and I am able to hear (receive audio) what's going on in the room, but I am not able to speak (send audio) and get the Cube speaker to output.

I am testing this with the BI iPhone App.

Am I doing something wrong?

Make sure you have the correct http port entered in blue iris - the video and listen audio is transmitted over rtsp but the talk audio is over http.
In the blue iris options>audio tab set the output to "not specified"

The camera was added using the "Inspect Now" button. Everything in there is default. HTTP port is set to 80 (should it be something else)?
The Output in the Audio Tab is set to "(Not specified)".

manually set the camera to hikvsion 2cdXXXX....
80 is the default http port on hikvision unless you changed it...you can see it in the camera network settings.

That worked. Thank you
Now I just need to figure out what to set in the camera since there's just a bunch of static being sent!

check the codecs set in the camera...the static may also be due to a poor wifi connection...wire it up and see if it helps

G.711alaw seems to be the best codec for streaming the sound out of the Cube.
Whenever I talk, it sends static to the speaker on all codecs.
Environmental noise filter is OFF.

Any ideas?

Cameras are not connected through WiFi, they are hardwired.
iPhone is connected through WiFi. Standing next to the Access Point does not change the quality sending in.
The only issue is audio going to the cameras, the one coming out is flawless.

I would play with the other codecs...see if one works...

Not sure...
G722.1 - chopped sound out / robotic nonsense in
G711ulaw - good sound out / low volume indistinct sound in
G711alaw - great sound out / high volume indistinct sound in
MP2L2 - 32kbps - chopped sound out /no sound in
MP2L2 - 64kbps - static sound out /no sound in
MP2L2 - 128kbps - chopped sound out /no sound in
G726 - low quality, low volume sound out / chopped loud static in.

That's it, no more codecs.

To clarify, I wasn't questioning your testing...i meant that i was unsure of the solution:)
by "out" do you mean the "talk" function?

I wanted to post findings for a better understanding of the issue :)

By "out" I mean input from the camera and out on the iPhone (headphone button).
By "in" I mean microphone input from the iPhone to the camera's speaker.

try G711alaw - great sound out / high volume indistinct sound in and lower the output volume on the blue iris options>audio tab
