Hi all

I've been playing with IP cameras for a long time and currently have 5
Model DS-2CD2332-I all working and recording to my NAS perfect. No matter what i try i can't get these 2 new DS-2CD3345-I cameras to record to my nas. It formats fine, it just doesn't send any data, video or images from the camera. Is this a know issue or am i doing something wrong. FW is V5.4.52 build 170527.
The NAS shares are all 200GB. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same camera DS-2CD3345-I with same FWV5.4.52 build 170527. I am having similar problem. My NAS is only 100GB size. I tried both NFS and SMB/CIFS and both failed in recording video. However, the image capture works.

Did you ever find a solution to this

I gave up. I am sure there is a massive bug with these hacked firmware to allow NFS. I am not even sure the real Hikvision OEM camera can do NFS properly. I think I had it setup properly. It seems to have recorded the image and it tries to write the video feed but it keeps resetting the files and not adding to it. They probably work best with their branded NVR system.
I went with sending images to an FTP server instead. I guess some proof is better than no proof. I just use a player that can play the images at a set speed so a makeshift motion jpeg. :)
With this Hikvision experience and the horrendous clone and unbranded Hikvision available,I am looking into Dahua since their firmware is a bit more robust. Even they have clones and unbranded versions as well. Makes it hard to find the best bang for the bucks especially when everyone always shoot down the version that is not being sold by them. We need individual reviewers to provide their honest opinions of a specific model.

Make sure the partition size that's reported is fully available for the format process.

If you share an 80Gb drive on NFS, and that size is reported to the camera it will try and use all that space even if other files are on the same hard disk partition.

Never seen hacked firmware have any bearing on NFS issues.

I have tried so many time to get NFS working on this camera. I have a 1TB drive. I tried setting the entire 1TB partition and made NFS available to the camera. Then I created a 80GB partition out of the 1TB and made it NFS available. Just for giggle, I created a 16GB partition trying to mimicked an SD card. Still no good. Just does not work.

Are you using linux? If so I'd create a 16Gb file, mount with mount -o loop and format it and share that. Just for a test.

Obviously make sure perms are all sorted. Also you can play with NFS version and share params.

Or if you have shell access to the camera, you can use setDebug -m NAS -l 7 and outputOpen for debug.

It possible to make patch for NFS like for R0,R6 series, but change code manualy via TTL not easy.
Next week same ipc return to me & will see.

Just created a 16GB file in my linux system and mounted as loop. I am not sure what Hikvision is doing or if I am view the files correctly. But this is all I see in the file system.

The hiv00000.pic will get updated while all the mp4 files stays at 0 bytes. This leads me to believe that NFS is not working.

I tried motion sensing and continuous recording and nothing changes. Do I need a special viewer to view the video? I can view the pic without any issues.

You could also try setDebug -m RECORD

Anything shown in playback for video in the web interface?

I assume you've set the video schedule events up correctly?

Did the camera ever record ok with an SD card if available?

Schedule event is set up properly. I did continuous recordings to ensure that our will record but it doesn't record. This camera had no sd card slot.
