I've been having this issue for a while with my DVR and I've tried a bunch of different settings to try and resolve it. I've had a couple of problems with people randomly trespassing and doing other silly things on my property and each time I try and review the footage it seems that there are large chunks missing in up to 30 second bits from the continuous video. This coincides with the people coming into view (which can't be seen as it's completely cut out), so may be linked to some inherent motion detect feature or maybe due to a poor hard drive.
I'd like to try and troubleshoot the issue but really require a bit of input from guys that may know more.
It's a Hikvision DVR with three cameras fitted (DS 7204 HGHI I believe) and recording 1080p continuously, with overwriting of old files.
