hi guys,

i have just bought a hikvision 7616 nvr and tried to connect with my existing 3rd party 8 cameras (POE, Onvif) of another chiness brand. I used before another NVR, which unfortunately support only 2 channels playback, that was the reason why i decided to upgrade my NVR.

It takes from me 2-3 hours to configure this cameras (most of them). With one camera i got strange error which i can't figure out how to fix - picture comes up with "unsupported stream type" - NO VIDEO. All other cameras are good enough.

and the second main issue that i have, that on playback section, there isn't any recorded data. I can't find any data here (i have installed 2 HDR-s, which i initialized during setup wizard).

So my 1st question?

1. How can i fix "unsupported stream type" issue? I tried to remove, restart camera, NVR, but w/o any success

2. How can i fix playback issue? Is it related to cameras? This cameras aren't supported by HiK (I can't find that brand on HIK's website), or it's something on my end?

NVR version _ HIKVISION DS-7616NI-E2/16P H.264 6MP 16-ch Embedded NVR (ordered on Ebay)

Cameras - H.265 IP Camera 4MP OV4689 Sensor HI3516D - Brand Azishn

Thanks

Hi Alexo,

Were you able to set that camera to enable ONVIF?

Is the config on the NVR for that camera also set to ONVIF?

If so, check the ONVIF compatibility and versions supported.

What codec (encoding choice) is set in the camera web GUI, main stream and substream? Maybe MJPEG? Change to h.264 or h.265

Enable schedule recording on the NVR.

Hi Alexo,

I have a Dahua OEM NVR - so I can only give you general advice which should help.

Basically both the camera and NVR settings for that camera need to be set to ONVIF.

Also, as alastairstevenson notes - the proper encoding which is supported by the NVR needs to be selected. ( H.264 seems to work for most cameras and NVRs, fewer older cameras and NVRs support H.265 )
