Hi,
I am using an 8 channel Hikvision DVR with internal HDD plus a small NFS dive on a synology NAS as a redundant drive. I run a script on the NAS that copies modified hivnnnnn.mp4 files to another partition on the NAS as my own backups using path/filename=year/month/hour/ moddate+modtime+hivnnnnn.mp4. This enables me to quickly locate a video for a specific time. However with Hikvision DVRs the pre-allocated hivnnnnn.mp4 files end up being consumed in a random sequence so I see no obvious way to determine which camera recording is in which file. I would like to use camerano+moddate+modtime+hivnnnnn.mp4 as the copy filename. I suspect this information is stored in the INDEX00/01/10/11.bin files, has anyone dug into these to identify which files are used by a particular camera?
Thank you,
Wilbur.

Hi Alistair,
They were interesting reading but unfortunately I cannot see anything in these utilities or programs that helps to identify the source camera.
Thank you,
Wilbur.
