Hikvision firmware on to clone NVS - LTS Brand - LTN8716-P8

Hello,

I have a LTS LTN8716-P8 Running the LTS latest firmware V3.4.96 build 171117.

From what I understand this is a Hikvision Clone. The model lead me to believe it was going to be the same as a DS-8716 Hikvision model, but that model seems to have little to know reference online, so I am considering possibly it is a standard DS-7716NI that HikVision allowed 3rd party OEM brands to remodel to XX8716? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Any suggestions how to verify?

I am hoping to play around with firmware upgrades to generic Hikvision firmware getting away from the 3rd parts LTS firmware on it.

Interesting part so far is that firmware version V3.4.96 does match a Hikvision version number as well, but it appears to be for DS-76XX & DS 77XX from what I can tell? Can anyone confirm?

I am wondering if I may be able to use the latest firmware for that series. In ether case I am not sure how to verify which series it would be matching up to firmware I see online such as NI-K, NI-I, NI-E, NI-SE, or NXI are the options I see from original hikvision firmwares for 76XX and 77XX series NVRs

On the US Hikvision Site these are the closest option I see, which seems like it has a shot at being correct:

Warning for I-Series NVR users: Before upgrading to v4.1.10 or 4.1.11 firmware. Be sure the NVR is on at least firmware 3.4.92 or 3.4.93. Failure to have the NVR on either of these firmware versions before upgrading to v4.1.10 could render the NVR in-operable.

Any suggestions on how to verify? Any headers I could look for hex editing firmware or any way I can telnet into my LTS and verify real model to more safely flash Hikvision firmware? I am experienced to know it is never safe, especially flashing across OEM brands of firmware, but that is impart why I am asking here in hopes of some suggestions for checking or if anyone experienced with these specific models may know already I would appreciate any recommendations.

LTS LTN8716-P8 is the none 4k version. and you have the lastest firmware. the firmware you post for newer model. from my own experience, if the OEM come with 3.4.96 or older I can flash them to 4.1. if came with 4.1.XX I can't not.

So, just to be clear since my NVR has firmware 3.4.96, from your experiance, I could flash to 4.1? Which Hikvision model NVR 4.1 firmware would you look for to match up with this non 4k model as you mentioned?

You have a older generation. 4.1 can’t install.

Okay, thanks for letting me know. I did misunderstand you post as it seemed like you were saying you were able to upgrade to 4.1 on units that came with 3.4.96 or older firmware.

Do you think original Hikvision 3.4.96 will work instead of the LTS firmware?

Anyone know if telnet can be enabled on these?

You can flash the Hikvision firmware to LTS via rs232 cable
