So I just read something in a review and I'm yet to hear from hikvision.

Apparently this does not work with a mechanicsl chime, unlike the KB6003.

Anyone know if the user review I read is true!?

Yes, it does not work with a mechanical chime. If anyone manages to hack a solution do share. I am lacking an indoor chime and it is definitely not ideal. The doorbell to video call also does not have notification hence I can't use Tasker to create the door bell event either.

Terrible, I sent it back and now I have KB6003. It's so buggy, that is almost dissuade people using it.

Anyone thinking of this doorbell, hold out as Hikvision is releasing a new doorbell soon.

It seems so strange that hikvision doesn't just sell their own compatible wifi chime. That way you could just plug the chimes in a power outlet and have multiple chimes. Such a shame and it's preventing me from buying the product.
