NVR had a virus.
Did an update firmware to 4.0
Virus still exists.
I can access the NVR but cannot configure it.
All options are greyed out.
Many fields are pre-populated with many +++++++++++ and will not allow any change.

How to fix ?

Not using any web browser.
Using direct connection to the NVR via the mouse.
Cannot make any change. Options are greyed out.
Many fields (like camera or device names) are pre-polulated with many +++++++++

Problem existed before the 4.0 upgrade.
Do you suggest that I re-do the upgrade ?
I am able to sign on to the NVR with the help of Hikvision tech support password re-set.
I can see all the menu but options are greyed out or change is not allowed.

Problem identified and as of this time, it is a virus not in the os but in the GUI wizard.

If the NVR is started up going through the startup wizard, then the virus take control on the NVR and will not allow change or configure after the unit startup.

If the NVR is started and EXIT out of the wizard (no going through it), the there is no virus and the NVR is normal.

I am in contact with Hikvision R&D to resolve the matter.

Considering that the flash partition that holds this code has it as an encrypted file in a read-only compressed archive, in the most unlikely situation where if it was a virus it would not be there after a reboot.

Yes logging with admin account.
With the startup interface wizard, I have no control of the NVR.
Exit out of the startup wizard, the NVR is normal.
