Hi.
I recently purchased a update-able Hikvision NVR from China.
The firmware that NVR came with it was V3.3.4 and I recently tried to upgrade it to V3.4.0.
After the upgrade the NVR started beeping and kept restarting.
I tried TFTP for downgrading to previous version and upgrading to new version but still no luck.
After the file is transferred to NVR, the firmware is not installed properly, instead the NVR restarts and repeats the same action over and over..
What Am I missing here? I also changed the battery inside the NVR, still no luck.

Can anyone help my please.

After the upgrade the NVR started beeping and kept restarting.
Yes, correct advice from @Oleglevsha "just install the original Chinese firmware using tftp"
The repeated beeping is probably the
"!!!!!!!you Device is illegal, Please call factory!!!!!!"
...
!!!!!!!you Device buy in cn, you firmware is en err!!!!!!
multiple beeps and errors after it finds out the device language does not match the firmware you have installed.
Just out of interest - did you try updating via the web GUI and it failed, so tried the tftp updater?
The web GUI does more validation of the firmware and will reject the update if not suitable.
CN firmware here: http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/download_more_699.html#prettyPhoto

Thanks Oleglevsha for the prompt response.
I have been trying to download from http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/download_more_699.html#prettyPhoto
But still haven't been able to download. The reason is that I can not register to the site using my Canadian phone number for phone verification.
It's very disappointing why Hikvision makes its product and services so user unfriendly.

Hi.
Finally was able to update the firmware, but now everything is in Chinese. and I don't know whether i can change the language..
My cameras also don't work with new Chinese firmware at the moment.
I will keep playing around with it and see what will come up next.

OK, so you fixed the rebooting problem, and now find that the NVR is in fact a Chinese model and not updateable as claimed.
The way others have dealt with this situation is to start from an older EN firmware (if the NVR allows a downgrade operation) and a web GUI update to the 3.3.4 version, which will maintain the EN language.
My cameras also don't work with new Chinese firmware at the moment.
What is the error you are getting? language mismatch?

I am not sure if you can help me.. I am also having the same issue with my 7604 nvr. I was hoping you can direct me hoe to unbrick my NVR.
I am getting this. I have been TFTP every file and still no fix.

I have been TFTP every file and still no fix.
That repeated beeping and reboot happens when non-CN firmware is used with a CN NVR.
The older firmware (say the 3.0.8 ML - do you still have that?) does not do that check, and allows the configuration file to have an 'EN' marker saved in it.
Then you should be able to perform a web GUI update with, say, 3.3.4 and keep the EN setting.
What versions of firmware have you tried with the tftp updater?

Weird last week I tried the 3.0.8 ml and it didn't work. This week I re-read your message again. You advised me to wait 5-6 min. Ah, that was the key, I need to wait for the file to accept and reboot. Now I have the Red screen Hikvision screen. :peaceful:

Now trying NVR_EXX_BL_EN_STD_V3.4.0_150929 = won't work= mismatch

recap:
I have a NVR 7604
I have successfully tftp my NVR to 3.0.8 build 140825
in the firmware: System Maintenance>Device Info>Model DS-7116N-SN / Firmware Ver: 3.0.8 build 140825

Will there be a discrep if firmware shows 7116 yet I have a 7604?

I have attempted to use firmware, resulting in "Update failed, firmware error":

have gone to this link before and never found my model number. They only specify DS-71/78/79 but not 76?
The 78xx and 76xx are the same hardware - 78xx is for Chinese market only.
The link you provided me resulted = "Upgrade failed, firmware mismatches"
Maybe try it with lang=2 using Hiktools.
