Hi Everyone,
Reading throught the forum and learning.Finally have the idea what I want and need some advice on it.
Here is what I have:
1. CAT6 cables going to 4 locations
2. PoE switch
3. Spare Win7 laptop with Blue Iris
4. Raspeberry Pi 3
5. NAS connected to RPi3
Here is what I'm planning to do:
1. Buy 4 outdoor cameras with IR in price range 100-140 dollars
2. Use spare laptop as NVR with clean Win install and BlueIris only
or
3. Use cheap NVR without the hard drive and use NAS drive and RPi3 for recording (NAS drive connected to Raspeberry Pi 3 would be in different location and would be dedicated to cameras only)
4.Get NVR with Hard drive
I need help choosing good outdoor cameras (leaning towards Hikvision) and your opinions on NAS setup. I would prefer NAS setup because it can well hidden from other equipment.
