Day 3 at a new Office setup, This is a brand new workstation with a Asus motherboard. I use a TON of these. This PC burned on my network for over a week before the Install, fire it up, saw windows start, my helper called me over for another issue, came back about 10 mins later...HMMM Bios page up, just hit enter, windows started and got REAL Stupid and slow, pretty much locked up, however not before noticing something on the time and date.
Window was in fact pulling this from the BIOS. Reset the bios..no beans, took her home, reflashed the bios, It took, went up 1 version, re boot same thing even with the updated bios.
Needless to say the mainboard is going back to Mr. Supplier. Hopefully this is a glitch and not some zero day Bios Virus, I have seen a lot of stuff in my IT life but this is pretty unusual
and worth putting it out there.
