If anyone can help me I would be most appreciated.
I have 2 x DS-2CD2232-I5 I was using with Synology Surveillance Station happily for the last 3 years. Then someone found my cameras and was repeatedly hacking them. They are grey imports and cannot be upgraded. I could not shutdown the ports because that made them useless. They changed the admin password and I changed it back. Well long story short I ended up enabling the ip address filter and locked myself out of one of the cameras (I know I'm an idiot). I have the IP and the admin password but I cannot get back into the camera via SADP, Hik-Connect. Can I recover the camera? If I plug in a POE Hikvision NVR direct will it regain access?

They are grey imports and cannot be upgraded.
There is no problem in converting these to English and updating to the firmware that fixes the 'Hikvision backdoor' that the hackers have used to gain access.

I could not shutdown the ports because that made them useless.
There are so many posts here warning of the risks to the LAN, the devices on it, and the data they access, from 'Port Forwarding'.
And loads of advice and guidance and how-tos on setting up VPN as the more secure alternative.

Well long story short I ended up enabling the ip address filter and locked myself out of one of the cameras
The solution will be suggested depending on what the settings were that you applied - eg the IP address or IP range that was configured, and the IP address of your LAN.

You could reset that camera back to defaults by using the Hikvision tftp updater to apply the same firmware as already exists.
But if you do that - you'd be as well to do the full conversion / update process -
Unbrick and fully upgrade your R0 / DS-2CD2x32 IP cameras -
R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

Thanks so much for the help Alastair. I ran tftp updater and for reasons unknown to me it always stops at the same point.
initialized O.K
test tftpserver O.K
success O.K
transmitting O.K
transmit and it gets no further. Never gets to system update completed! I have tried many times and left it over an hour.

Any ideas?

That result would occur when the wrong firmware for the camera is applied.
It transmits the file, checks it, and rejects it.

What exact firmware did you try to apply? Presumably it's a Chinese camera.

You were spot on again. Managed to get all way to the end with the Chinese Brick-fix dav. Struggling with the MTD Hack. Changed Language 02 to 01. Changed Devtype FF to 07. Then the Checksum to 0B F8. It updates fails at 98%.

What firmware version are you trying to update to?
General experience has been that 5.4.5 works OK but 5.4.41 does not for the first update.
Strictly - the update should start with lower versions and progress though the major releases.

Got it. Thank you so much for the help. All sorted both cameras on 5.4.5. You are an absolute legend.
I knew there had to be a reason I payed out for Hikvision cameras and it was not for Hikvision tech support.
