I want to use 2 cameras for scenery (Miles not feet). Can anyone recommend IP and POE cameras for this.

The usual 1080p IP cams should be fine. The main issue could be the lens. You may want to get a more expensive lens with little image distortion (barrel etc), and then you probably need to go to cameras with CS mount and not the 12 mm lens mounts the inexpensive cameras have.

HikVision BOX camera with P-Iris is a must. Here yo go with Hik 4065 and P-Iris Hik Lens F/0.95.
Below is a raw demo - mountains are about 8km away from camera.

Check out this thread below, it has lots of nice screen captures posted, scroll down and look through the entire thread. The camera used is a Huisun IP PTZ Camera, I'm getting at least one of them as I have a pretty good view and want this HD camera mostly for that reason.

Below is a video of silicone valley taken by a member here, lulu5kamz with the Huisun IP PTZ Camera, be sure to watch it full screen in HD, pretty impressive.

Here is a link to the camera used.

Is this the kind of camera you had in mind?

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these.
