Thats correct. I have both SS and BI setup and neither get triggers from IVS. The odd part is if I enable SMD those triggers work fine to both systems. Also, the SMD triggers show up in the logs and the IVS ones do not. I have 3 of these cameras and can produce the same results on all of them.

Could you please check your logs if you are running IVS and see if you are getting IVS triggers listed? Maybe IVS doesnt log, hell I'm grasping

Mine doesn't show the IVS triggers in the log, but BI did trigger during the events recorded on the SD card

Ah thank you guys, at least I'm not looking for logs. I do not currently have any local storage in my cameras so maybe that is it??

I turned on Alarm at top of screen by dropping down the Alarm Subs and selecting all. I had the mailman show up and you can see lots of IVS triggers but nothing on the BI or SS

I guess let's go back to the beginning and not assume anything.

There are a few places you need to set this up in BI (assuming you already set up the IVS rules in the camera GUI):

  • Go in to BI and select Add Camera
  • Type in the IP address, username, and password
  • Hit the Find/inspect button and let BI choose the right settings.
  • In Camera configure setting check the box "Get ONVIF triggers".
  • Hit Find/Inspect on the camera setting to pull the coding for the triggers.
  • Go into Motion Setting and select the "Cameras digital input" box.
  • On the Alerts tab uncheck the Motions Zones tab (those are alerting you to any BI motion in those areas)
  • On the alerts tab set up how to be notified.

If you did all that, for kicks hit the Find/inspect button and a window opens with a bunch of scrolling text - copy and paste here what shows up in that window.

That all looks good - and it doesn't trigger in BI?

If not, sometimes cameras get wonky, so I would suggest deleting it in BI and re-add following above and hopefully it will work this time.

Thank you for the help. I deleted it and re-added camera to no avail. I think as one last ditch effort I'll delete camera, then factory reset the camera and start from scratch. I wish I code retro FW back to a known good version.

Full reset on cameras and newly added to BI no luck. Oh well I'll just use the standard detection until maybe a newer FW comes out

Was poking around on my cameras and I noticed this setting:
It has Smart Codec and AI Codec as options. Do you have to have this on AI codec for AI to trigger? Thanks

I have left mine on general. This strategy is simply another algorithm to adjust bitrate. In theory the AI codec will reduce bitrate until AI detection.

Thank you for the help still trying to figure this out. Do you have to add record and alarm-out to your AI tripwire rules? I keep adding them but not sure I need to

Record yes to save to SD card., Alarm only if you connected a relay or something to one of the extra wires.

In theory, but nobody has tested that yet to my knowledge to see if that would then trigger for animals?

The only cameras I've had success with getting it to trigger BI are the 4MP 5442 series turrets using the V2.840.15OG008.0.R, Build Date: 2022-02-18 firmware. I can't get the 4MP B5442-Z4E bullet (with the same firmware) or the Color 4K-X to work. I haven't tried the Color 4K-T but I doubt it's going to work. I emailed Ken last week in hopes he can add support for those cameras.

Every one of mine trigger in BI including the 5442-Z4E, 4K/X and 4K-T.

How are you trying to bring them in? Maybe it is an ONVIF password manager conflict that isn't seeing the ONVIF triggers?

I've had the same results with two different BI installs (I recently built a new rackmount computer using a 12th gen i7). With the new computer, I did a clean installation of BI and I set everything up from scratch, I did not import any settings. I added the camera and input the username and password, clicked "find/inspect". I also enabled "Get ONVIF Trigger events". In the camera options under trigger I checked "Cameras digital input or motion alarm" I also unchecked the motion detection in BI. I did the same procedure for all of the cameras and the only ones that worked were the 5442 Turrets. Obviously I had IVS and tripwire enabled in the cameras.

How would I check to verify if there is an ONVIF password conflict? I'm on BI version 5.6.2.10
