So recently i bought my first camera from Andy and i'm loving it.
I already tried out some features, tripwiring, motion detection.. I will also be setting up a ftp server for saving footage on my server instead of local storage.

There are a few things that i want to know about this camera. (what's possible and wat's not)

-Is there a stream of the camera i can use? (show the feed in html on another website or dashboard, Grafana probably)
I've heard the stream should be a rtsp stream but i haven't got a hands on yet.

-Regarding GUI/features , is it possible to upgrade the GUI (i have the old GUI with this camera) to a more modern look trough firmware upgrades? Maybe some more features?

-NVR, i didn't buy a NVR with my camera since this was more of a experiment, it would make sense to have one once i get more cameras.
But i've heard there is opensource software out there that would act like a NVR?

-Remote access: Is there a way to connect my camera to some sort of app? If it would only be available within my home network, that's ok.
I've heard DMSS could work for this?

-Alerts: I've seen an option regarding 'Alarm', does this require extra hardware that would make noise or something? Or is there a way to send an alert to my phone (maybe with an app)?

These are quite a few questions, i might be on the wrong track with some of these questions but please say so. I want to learn and get the most of this camera.
My camera knowledge is pretty limited but i'm a fast learner, my IT-related knowledge is decent so that will probably help.

Use VLC media player to figure out the streaming configuration.

The GUI is firmware and not much you can do about it. Dahua does have a new version in the works that will give it a modern look, but for the moment you are stuck with the 80s GUI LOL.

Tons of software out there to act like an NVR. Blue Iris is the one most of us use.

iDMSS for iOS and gDMSS for google devices. Keep in mind if your camera is going through the router, it can be hacked. Most of us isolate the camera from the internet and then use OpenVPN to get back into our IP address when away from home. This VPN is free and is different than a paid VPN that hides your IP address for porn and illegal streaming.

Alarm is for an external add-on to flash or siren depending on how you set it up.

Thanks!

Yeah i was planning to configure openvpn. I don't like exposing stuff towards the bad internet.
Blue Iris is indeed something i found when looking around, seems cool, i've also heard kerberos, zoneminder, eyemotion is pretty good.
I'm gonna experiment around and see what suits my needs.

Regarding the GUI, i've seen guides with the 'new' GUI on the wiki page. What's up with that? Is that something customers don't have access to yet?
Or does the newer GUI ship with newer cameras?

A few of the more expensive newer stuff has it, but the rest of us will have to wait a little longer.
