Hi,

I have two IPC-HDW5231R-ZE cameras. I have noticed that the H.265 encoding does not work properly. If I select a a resolution higher than 1280x720 the output is always 1280x720. For example, when I select 1920x1080, the encoded video is 1280x720.

I have also noticed that the encoding framerate does not work properly. If I select anything less than or equal to 30 fps, the encoded output is 30 fps. If I select anything greater than 30 fps, the encoded output is 60 fps.

Device TypeIPC-HDW5231R-ZE
System Version2.460.0000000.16.R, Build Date: 2017-09-04Found New Version
WEB Version3.2.1.491565
ONVIF Version16.12(V2.4.0.485616)

Has anyone noticed this issue? How do I report the bug to Dahua?

Can someone else can confirm these bugs?
I'd just ordered two IPC-HDW5231R-ZE from Andy (not received yet) and I'm a bit afraid now..
For me it is a real concern if this model can't record at 1920x1080!
(If confirmed, how could such an enormous bug pass through Dahua quality control???)

This version of FW is very buggy.

I have several IPC-HDBW4231E-ASE + IPC-HDBW4231E-AS + IPC-HDBW4231F-AS, after the version 2.460.0000000.16.R, Build Date: 2017-09-04.
Bit rate so much CBR is not able to maintain the set value - it goes beyond the scale, resulting in a black image preview image on the NVR

Return to FW 2.460.0000.14.R, Build Date: 2017-07-20 and everything works ok.

Where can I download the latest firmware or the 2.460.0000.14.R version and proper steps for updating a camera's firmware without messing something up?
I have the IPC-HDW5231R camera I bought over a year ago but have never tried updating a firmware before.

I can confirm the fps issue on IPC-HDW5231R-Z (I don't have ZE version). No matter the setting it goes to 30fps. It's recording at 1080 for me though.

Care to share how to downgrade the firmware?

It Seems Dahua Does have an online product support page. I have never tried it so not sure of the response you will get. But its a starting point.
Online Support - Dahua Technology
The support page works but every time I try to submit the report the connection conveniently resets. I've tried from two computers on different networks with the same results.

@EMPIRETECANDY has helped us with firmware issues (mostly with NVRs) in the past.

Andy, the R16 firmware on multiple cameras (5231R-Z, 5231R-ZE, multiple 4231 models) has issues (listed in post #1 above). Is this something you could notify Dahua of for us?

Noted, i will report this to dahua, so right now the main problem is the resolution can't selected and the framerate can't make good setting.
Can you please share some pics for me? Send email to me kingsecurity2014@163.com then i can make a short report for dahua guys. By the way, when use with the old firmware in Jul, all good?

Also firmware downgrade fixes fps issue for me. Using the one from July now and both cameras fps settings work correctly now.
