For high quality night vision, is the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE still the undisputed world champion? it’s been a couple of years now, I expect it to be refreshed or to have some competition at some point.

I have 2 of them and 2 5442's - they are so close in pitch black conditions. I did not tweak the very best out of each, so one may do better than the other, with a finer tune.

with tradeoffs being varifocal lens', microphones & Artificial Intelligence, it will always be a matter of what you really need for your particular situation.
a comparison of the 5231 and the 3241 seems to have the 3241 as the winner - but that's just for my needs.

Are any of the Hik darkfighters better? I’ll be replacing 4 of my cams this year after building work on the house.

The OP asked about best in low light.

While the newer 1/2.8” 2231 and 3241’s are very good and appear to be an improvement over the 5231’s, with the new 1/1.8” sensor the 5442/7442 series are the clear Dahua winner.

I don’t own any but I would suspect yes the newer HiK Darkfighters/Colorvu models with the 1/1.8 sensor are on par with the 5442 series

I've yet to see a 4mp 1/1.8 sensor with an F1.0 aperture released by Dahua though. If you want the best of both worlds (Dahua and Hikvision), you'll want to consider a Blue Iris setup :D

I still use a few IPC-HDW5231R-ZE turrets, but the 3241's dethrones the 5231 thanks to its AI capabilities :)

edit: I still prefer the face of the 5231 turret though, doesn't look like a camera from a distance, lol

When the heck did this model come out?

I hope a Dahua turret model comes out with the f1.0

Why are the specs different on Dahua's website and CCTV Mall?

You mean like this one?

Dunno. CCTV-mall frequently gets stuff mixed up. The “ni” is the “full color” model F1.0 vs the one without “ni” which is F1.2

In short, No

The 5442/7442 series are the new top dog
This is not the first time you are missing out the 60fps (Can greatly enhance the image, especially when there is movement) Despite the 1080P resolution.
If you have problem to use 60fps with the NVR you can do the test to U3 A1 microSD

Please do the 60fps test

I didnt test it. Why dont you test?

60FPS wont improve the image quality at night.

You are clueless. As others have noted 60fps wont help for night vision. Start reading and learning.

Watch your language!
60fps won't get more light into the sensor but it will reduce the blur and the picture will be more steady!

Lol. I don’t take orders from you. You continue to show your incompetence 60 FPS will not have any affect on the blur. Please educate yourself the first search term you should use is exposure. You’re welcome.

It is difficult to get a clear picture of objects in motion. 60fps will get much better results for the same camera!
Yes, you are a "genius."
I believe that you placed a sign with a request. Please stop in front of the camera & also please leave your details.
