Remember that a camera will need power, so either some wiring going away from it, or a fairly obvious and bulky battery.
Can you show pics of doorknob and where this was? I agree it’s not a camera, but I am trying to figure out what it does.

Is it magnetic anywhere? Maybe some sort of contact switch for an alarm.
Some better pictures that are in focus from a few angles and a few from where it came from would help. Was it connected to wires?
I'm thinking it could be some kind of buzzer but I'm not sure.
It is magnetic. But there were no wires or batteries when i took the knob and striker plate apart

I am 95% positive this is an old 2 wire magnetic contact switch for an old alarm system that was eventually removed.
