Hey guys,

I have a 7732 nvr installed with a camera system for the last 2 years or so. Everything is working fine with the nvr and cameras in the original install. Now im trying to add a new camera to it and i can only get the substream to show on the nvr. Ive tried plugging the camera into the POE ports on the nvr as well as into the main switch for the building. Both methods will work but only the substream will display whether in multi cam mode, which it should and full screen. Ive attached a picture of the nvr screen with the camera video settings. When i pull up the camera by itself everything is perfect.

Nvr is DS-7732NI-SP Firmware V3.1.7 build 141201
Camera is DS-2CD1131-I Firmware V5.4.5 build 170124

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Thanks in advance

Access the camera web GUI (use Virtual Host if it's connected to a PoE port) and check / reconfigure the settings for the camera main stream.
Check in particular the video coding that's selected.

Tried all of that. When I change resolution in the sub stream it changes on the nvr screen but still can only go to 640. Nothing I change on main stream makes a difference

A couple of suggestions to try :
In the NVR, Configuration | Storage | Schedule Settings | Advanced | Stream Type check the setting.
In the camera, anything different if you drop the main stream resolution down to say 1080p?

Don't see any settings for that. But changed all the video settings already. I'm at a loss

I dont have that option. Think my firmware may be too old.

Anywhere that i could get a newer version?

It looks like the firmware for your model is here : DOWNLOAD PORTAL
But you'd need to be very sure the NVR is not a 'hacked to EN Chinese model'.
The NI in the model number suggests it should be OK, but there is always some risk with Hikvision firmware operations.

With the old NVR firmware - it could well be a subtle firmware issue.

Will it brick it? Or just refuse to upgrade?
