I'm attempting to connect remotely to my DS-2CD2432F-IW camera using Hikvision's android app.

Here are my settings:

Camera's IP: 192.168.1.38

Port forwarding:

8282 to 192.168.1.38
554 to 192.168.1.38
8000 to 192.168.1.38

I'm not able to login using IVMS-4500 Androip app locally or Remote. I even tried IP CAm viewer and I get an error saying "FAiled to retrieve image from camera"

Other than the port numbers, do I need to set up something specific in the camera for remote viewing to work with IVMS-4500 Androip app?

Post a screen shot of your network settings...
Also are you using the correct external ip? The port in ivms should be 8000

I have similar problem.
have 3 camera and in my router I have port forwarding set up.
from outside, I can access cameras by links like below:
mydmain.dyndns.com:1111
mydmain.dyndns.com:2222
mydmain.dyndns.com:3333

it is also working on Ip Cam Viewer, but not working with 4500

tried:
address: mydmain.dyndns.com:1111
port: 8000

got connection failed

tried:
address: mydmain.dyndns.com
port: 1111

constantly getting: "receiving data from device timed out"
Any advice how to fix it?

yup..in the app you should have the domain as mydmain.dyndns.com
and the ports as 8000, 8001,8002 respectively for each camera
The app looks for the media port...so you need to forward 8000, 8001,8002 for each camera to the respective local ip address...

so you mean I should forward 8000 ports on my router in addition to the ones already did?

or forward outside port to 8000 of camera rather than 80.
currently my ports are forwarded to 80

You need to forward the media port on each camera ..the default is 8000, but you need to change that for two of them, to 8001 and 8002...
You do not need to forward port 80 (or whatever you set your http port to be) for the app to work (i know that for certain)...you may have to forward the rtsp port but i am unsure of that..try without it...

ok so I guess what you mean is that:
from camera, config>network>port change two of them to 8001 and 8002
then from my router forward 8000, 8001 and 8002 to each camera's IP and ports 8000 - 8002

is that right?
